The test pens contain fluids of defined surface tension. The surface energy of the material to be checked is determined simply by applying a stroke of ink with the tip of the felt pen. The accuracy of the measurement is 1 dyne/cm.

We offer 2 types of DYNE TEST PENS:

Quick Test 38 Pens - Blue and Red Ink

The quick test 38 pen is our most popular; it is available in a bright red ink or bright blue ink. The quick test pen serves to check if the treatment of polyolefilms (polyethylene, polypropylene, polybutylene) has shown an effect onto the material. A stroke of the pens leaves a full line on the material if the material's surface energy is below 38dynes/cm.

If the materials surface energy is below 38 dynes/cm, the fluid will form small drops on the surface. The fluid applied to the surface will dry within seconds; it does not need to / cannot be wiped off anymore.

Pens are easy to handle, perfect for the quick spot checks on the production floor, and very easy to read, no subjectivity for this type of test, no wiping off necessary, lasting display of result, and very striking red and blue coloring.

Blue Ink Pyne Pens - Blue Ink Only

The blue ink dyne pens are very popular to read different dyne levels. They are available in dyne/cm levels from 30 - 70 dyne/cm. The are used the same as the quick test pens above.

Pens offer a quick measurement with high accuracy, no spilling, extremely easy to use, minimum consumption of test fluid, and long shelf life if cap is kept closed properly.

Dyne Test Solutions

The test solutions/inks are fluids of defined surface tension, which are available in bottles of 50ml and 100ml. The surface energy of a substrate is checked by simply applying the test ink to the surface with a swab or felt tip applicator.

I.C.E dyne test solutions are manufactured to ASTM standard D-2578.

We offer 2 types of DYNE TEST SOLUTIONS:

DYNE TEST INKS WITH SWABS; BLUE AND RED INK

The dyne test inks are available in a range from 30 - 70 dyne/cm in either blue or red ink. The test solutions are used with supplied industrial swabs and are available in kits or individual bottles.

Dyne test inks/solutions give a very quick measurement with high accuracy, good readability on rough or dark surfaces, no pollution of the ink, wide range of special surface tensions available.

DYNE TEST INKS WITH JUMBO CARTIDGES; BLUE AND RED INK

The I.C.E. inc. Jumbo Dyne Pens features a spring loaded felt tip, this regulates and controls the flow of solution onto the substrate. The replaceable felt tip enables the user in insure accurate dyne level readings; eliminating any concerns about tip contamination. This Jumbo pens holds just over one once of solution (above) and is refillable.

Jumbo pens are ideal for testing large surface areas, high volume applications. They are available with BLUE and RED inks (above) from 30 - 70 dyne/cm.
